The history of Cairanne dates back to the Gallo-Roman era, when the Romans introduced vine cultivation. After thriving under the influence of the Templars in the Middle Ages, the vineyard has faced major challenges.
After the establishment of religious orders and the Popes in Avignon, the vineyard flourished and has continued to thrive ever since.
Driven by this long-standing momentum, Cairanne became the 17th Cru of Côtes du Rhône in 2016.
Nestled against the southern slopes of a hilly massif that separates the Aygues and Ouvèze Valleys, Cairanne is the gateway to the vineyards of the southern Rhône Valley. Three unique terroirs divide the 1088 hectares of vineyards classified as AOC Cairanne. Each one, through their uniqueness, contributes to the creation of fine and elegant wines.
The wines of Cairanne, both red and white, reflect a unique terroir and craftsmanship passed down through generations. Made with traditional grape varieties from the region, each bottle expresses the finesse and elegance characteristic of the appellation.
The winegrowers, involved in a sustainable viticulture, preserve the quality and authenticity of their wines.
